This is a very common misconception. While there is no perfect cure, magical pill, or quick fix for tinnitus, there are various proven techniques to manage tinnitus. The approach is the difference. There is, thankfully, more than one option for telehealth and each has a different focus based on the provider’s area of expertise. At Grounded Hearing, the approach is rooted in a unique combination of education, counseling, nervous system regulation, breathing strategies, mindfulness training, and specific tools you can practice anytime and anywhere.

Yes, it is highly encouraged that you see an audiologist and ear nose throat (ENT) provider if you have bothersome tinnitus. This is essential for addressing some of the health conditions that can cause or exacerbate your tinnitus. These healthcare providers can then monitor and sometimes manage or treat those conditions while you seek tinnitus support through this program and/or in conjunction with other specialists. Even if your provider does not find a specific medical problem during your visit, the appointment can rule out those potential problems and serve as a helpful baseline test. It’s the right first step and it’s peace of mind.

That’s great. If you have another trusted healthcare provider who is monitoring a related health condition or helping to manage your tinnitus, please continue to see them. Approaching tinnitus with more than one provider and with more than one method can be a fantastic way to support progress that results in lasting change. This program can be an excellent compliment to your outside care.

No- we do not currently fit hearing aids or ear level devices. Sound therapy may be a part of the recommended plan for you but it is not the primary focus. You should continue to see your hearing care specialist if hearing aids have been recommended or fit.
